*Additional entries will NOT be accepted once the time schedule has been sent.
*Headliners does not accept entries at the door!
*Once entries are submitted studios/independents are liable for the full amount due. By mailing entries or clicking submit online you agree to these terms.
Entries must be submitted and received online 28 days or more prior to the start of the first day of competition. A credit card is required to guarantee entries. Fees can be mailed in with a studio check to avoid the credit card service fee but must arrive in the Headliners office within 5 business days of online submission. If payment is not received the credit card provided will be charged. (Note: Headliners can not accept third party credit cards. Credit card provided must be a studio owner or teacher or the person submitting the information.)
Anyone choosing not to take advantage of the online system must have their entries postmarked 30 days prior to start of the first day of competition. Full payment is due with entries by studio check. A $5 per entry fee will be accessed if fees are not included with mailed entries and a credit card will be required for processing (the service fee will apply).
NOTE: National entries must be postmarked or received online by May 25th
PAYMENT OF ENTRY FEES: Forms of payment can include studio check, money order, bank check, or credit card. A 3% service fee will be accessed for all credit card payments.
Contestant Entry Information: Contestants may enter as many categories as desired. Soloists are limited to three solos per regional event and cannot compete more than once in the same category and age division (they may not compete against themselves.) In duo/trio, group, line and class there must be 50% or less of the same students when competing in the same age group and category. All monies are required when sending entries. NOTE: Studios must issue one check for all entries.
Late Entries: Entries submitted either online after the deadline or entries via US mail postmarked after the deadline will be accepted only if time allows and only if received prior to the time schedule being sent. All late entries are subject to a $5 late fee per entry. A credit card will be required for processing. The service fee will apply.
Changes to entries: Changes to existing entries will be permitted up to 2 weeks prior to the competition or until the final schedule is completed. Please review your confirmations carefully!! NO CHANGES/ADDITIONS WILL BE PERMITTED LESS THAN 10 DAYS PRIOR TO THE COMPETITION!
Refunds: There are no refunds of any kind including no refunds for scheduling conflicts. If a participant becomes injured and supplies Headliners with a legitimate letter from a doctor, a credit for those fees will be issued to the studio.
Independent entries: Headliners is happy to accept entries independent of a dance studio. An additional $10 is required for students independently of their studio or for single entries from a studio. Money orders from independent dancers are preferred.
Scheduling: Headliners DOES NOT HAVE A SET SCHEDULE. Schedules are formulated based on the number and type of entries received to best serve the majority of participants. Schedules are emailed approximately 2 weeks prior to each event. Headliners is happy to try to accommodate scheduling requests, however due to the number of requests received it is impossible to accommodate everyone. There are no refunds for conflicts that cannot be accommodated. (Headliners competitions will not begin before 8AM or end later than 11PM.) Routines that do not perform in their scheduled session will not be eligible for overall awards. Participants that are not present at awards ceremonies forfeit their awards.
Returned Check/Denied Credit Card: There is a $25 charge for checks returned or credit cards denied.
Check-in: A studio representative should check-in upon arrival at the merchandise table to pick up the studio information packet. Our sound engineer is located backstage so not to interfere with the audience. Music should be turned in backstage to the announcer.
Music: Headliners requires CD’s for music playback and highly encourages the use of audio specific CDs. Each song should be on a separate CD. Back-up CDs are recommended.
Right to Extend: Entries are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Headliners reserves the right to extend any event to accommodate entries received. Headliners also reserves the right to close the competition prior to the deadline should the number of entries received exceeds the time allotted.
Appropriateness: Competitions are not meant to censor everyone’s moral judgment as that would be too much of a challenge being that everyone’s opinions are different. What may be offensive to one person can be completely harmless to another. Headliners also recognizes that routines being performed have been approved by the parents of the students. However, the staff of Headliners highly encourages the use of age appropriate music and costuming. Movements, music, and/or costuming that the Headliners staff feels may be inappropriate will be addressed by the judges on the critiques, may lose points and/or be disqualified.
Video and Photography Cameras: Video and flash photography are prohibited at all Headliners events. A warning will be given to the studio if rules are broken. Points will be deducted for repeated offenses.
Props: Hats, canes, chairs, etc. may be used. Scenery essential to the choreography is also permitted. Special lighting, knives, fire props, fog machines, etc. are prohibited.
Deportment of Contestants/Audience Members: The failure of performers or audience members to act appropriately or the continued breaking of rules will result in disqualification of the routine and/or ejection from the event. Headliners also enforces a strict zero tolerance rule (no drugs/alcohol). Any offenders will be held liable for any damages or consequences incurred by the actions of the offender(s). No coaching from the wings or audience allowed. Dancers are not permitted to sit on the floor in the vicinity of the judges’ tables
Miscellaneous: Entrants consent to the use of their photographs or videotaped performances for advertising or promotional purposes.
Smoking, food and/or drinks are prohibited in the auditorium and dressing rooms at all times.
Questions, concerns during an event: During any event, should anyone have any questions, they should immediately seek out a Headliners staff member on site to have it properly addressed.
