Throughout my dance training I have learned that the crown, banner, trophy or jacket does not define me as a dancer. Headliners has helped me learn to work to achieve my best, and allowed me to pour my heart and soul onto the stage. Thank you for always encouraging and believing in me.

Thank you so much for still having silver medals! I remember competing before we moved to the adjudication systems - we used to get honorable mentions - remember those?! I got bronzes and silvers growing up and it made me work so hard for a gold medal. When I finally starting getting those, I felt like I really achieved something. My students feel the same way now. When we go to a comp that only awards golds and higher, they feel like the golds don't mean anything and they are disappointed. So, thank you – I wish more competitions held true to the original idea of adjudicated scoring systems!

I am writing to thank you for a wonderful experience at your recent competition in Youngstown, Ohio.  Although my daughters came with just one other girl from their studio, you made them feel as welcome and comfortable as if they had come with a whole host of their friends!  Thank you!!  The competition itself is so well run that it is a pleasure to attend.  And a special thank you for the wonderful CDs from the judges.  They provided some of the best suggestions and critiques that we have encountered at any competition. We would like to take this time to personally thank all of you for such a wonderful weekend in Lawrenceville! You run a great competition and it is a lot of fun. We have listened to the judge critiques.  They were FABULOUS.  Polite, energetic, professional, yet sooooo funny!  I COMMEND them highly for their comments, knowledge, and insight--- one of the top judge’s critiques I have heard in a long time!!!  It had been a long time since we had been to Headliners. We were meant to feel so welcome and it was nice to feel relaxed and happy at a competition. You have one class act company!. I loved your article on the silver awards.  I find that too much of society is making it a “feel good” world for children.  We all want children to grow up confident and feel good about themselves but what happened to having to work hard for your dreams?  Our studio gets plenty of silvers but we teach them to work harder for the gold and it always feels good to all involved once the dancer achieves that gold.  Thank you for keeping the scoring system that you do and know that there are still teachers that appreciate it!                                                                 Melissa Singley, Greendale Dance Academy, MA

You know I did those local comps to raise funds for the Aspiring Dreamz Foundation...I insisted that we run the comp like Headliners...It's the only real comp left worth competing in. Let Headliners be the competition that teachers know is the one to work for. Not a gimmee…a challenge and a goal.
